If your Wii will not play some Game Discs but is fine with others, follow the instructions below.
Check the bottom of the discs – the side with no labels or writing – for any dirt or damage.
If the discs looks dirty due to fingerprints, smudges, dust, etc. you should follow the instructions from How to clean a Game Disc… and try the Game Disc again.
If the problem persists, or if the games look like they have any scratches or cracks, your Game Discs will need to be replaced.
If you’re only able to play one type of Game Disc – e.g. Wii but not GameCube Game Discs – then it’s likely there is a problem with your Wii console and it will need to be fixed.
If your games are not dirty or damaged and your Wii won’t play them you’ll need to get your Wii repaired. Make sure you send both the console and the games that aren’t working to be repaired.
You can book your Wii and Game Disc(s) in for inspection by the Nintendo Customer Support Team.
