If your microphone isn't responding, follow the advice below.
First make sure that you’re playing a game that supports it.
If the microphone should be working with the game(s) you’re having problems with, what you’ll need to do depends on whether you’re having problems with all your games or just one.
Make sure that the microphone’s sensitivity level is suitable for the game – you’ll be able to find instructions on how to adjust it in the game’s manual.
If this doesn’t solve the problem, try the game in another Nintendo DS system. If no other system is available, you’ll have to send both the system and the game for further inspection.
If all other games are working in your Nintendo DS, you’ll have to send the game back for inspection.
If this is the case it’s likely there’s a problem with your Nintendo DS, which will need to be fixed.
