Diagnosing the issue

I’m getting an error message that says ‘Face not recognised’. What can I do?
When taking photos, there are a few things that you’ll need to do.
- Take the photo in a well-lit area.
- Make sure you get the whole of the person’s face on screen.
- Don’t tilt your head when taking the photo.
- Make sure you capture the person’s face from the front.
- Take off any glasses when having your photo taken
- Brush hair away from your face when having your photo taken, so that all your features are clearly visible.
Still have an issue?
If you’ve followed the advice above and it hasn’t solved the problem, it may be that your camera is dirty, or that your system needs to be inspected further.
Follow the lens cleaning advice from Photos are missing pixels when I take them… to check that the problem is not with dirt on your camera.
If you’ve cleaned the lens and are still having problems you’ll need to book your Nintendo DS in for inspection by the Nintendo Customer Support Team.
