If 3D photos taken on your Nintendo 3DS look blurred or aren’t sharp, please follow the advice below.
Your Nintendo 3DS takes 3D photos using the two outer cameras. The minimum distance from your subject should be at least 30cm and the ideal distance for taking photos is around 1 metre.
If you follow these guidelines and your photos still aren’t sharp or appear blurry, you may need to manually adjust the 3D focus.
With some surroundings, you may need to manually adjust the focus on the 3D camera to improve the quality of your photos.
To do this, simply touch the red lever in the bottom right of the Nintendo 3DS Camera menu.
Next, select the arrow icon in the centre, and then move the Circle Pad in the direction you need to manually adjust the focus.
If you follow these steps and your photos still have not improved, it may be necessary to calibrate the outer cameras.
Detailed instructions of how to calibrate the outer cameras can be found by going to the HOME Menu, then SYSTEM SETTINGS, OTHER SETTINGS, and finally to OUTER CAMERAS.
If you’ve followed the above steps and your photos are still not correctly focused, you can book your Nintendo 3DS in for further inspection by the Nintendo Customer Support Team.
